Remediation by Template

With the addition of template variables in Runbook/CM Templates and the support for data retrieval from ADT, you can flexibly customize your operations in runbook, such as modifying and verifying different interfaces across devices. As a result, NI Remediation now supports the following two practical use cases.

1. Per-Node Settings in NI – NI assigns values individually to each node when CM Templates do not use template variables.
2. Template-Based Settings in CM Templates – CM Templates use template variables with all node settings predefined, and NI does not configure nodes individually.

For the action Remediation by Template, after you select a CM Template:

• When the CM template contains template variables: The system directly reads all the template variables that require input and assigns values to them using NI variables.
• When the CM template does not contain template variables: UI displays an alert message to remind you to use the Remediation by Device instead, and this alert will prevent you from continuing the operation.
