Auto-Remediation for TAF/PA with Network Change Template

In a fast-paced world driven by technological advancements, network changes can be frequent, and in some cases, a minor change can lead to unexpected consequences. A seamless change management workflow is crucial as it minimizes the risk of adverse impacts and also enables engineers to perform changes with ease and confidence. The following remediation features help automate network change.

  • Auto-remediation for TAF (Triggered Automation Framework), meaning a change management task will be created automatically after intent execution, and for precautionary or compliance purposes, requires an approver before execution, for example, an admin, to manually approve the task. With this enhancement, the TAF remediation process does not need any human intervention until the approval stage. After the designated approver approves the task, an implementation engineer can execute it to resolve the issue.

Example: When a monitoring tool detects an unauthorized device connected to the switch ports, it opens a ServiceNow ticket with the details of the switch and port. Through ServiceNow integration with NetBrain, a remediation intent is triggered, and a change task is generated. User can then swiftly shut down the specific port using the change task.

  • Pre-approved remediation for TAF (Triggered Automation Framework). When a remediation intent is triggered, a pre-approved change management task will be automatically generated. Users can execute the change management task with the predefined devices, so the ticket issue can be resolved and corrected.

  • Auto-remediation for PA remediat (Preventive Automation). Users can enable auto-remediation on ADT intents or golden intents, which are scheduled to run periodically for network diagnosis. Once they are executed, a change management task will be automatically created and sent for approval.
